Concrete Restoration

We specialize in concrete restoration throughout the southeast using many different ways to correct certain problems found in concrete. Some Concrete problems in the Southeast can be found along the Coastal Regions and are a result of seawater and salt in the air. Other problems might be the result of normal traffic wear, or the settling of the ground under the structure. Many of these problems can be fixed without tearing down the structure and rebuilding a new one. There are many ways to deal with these problems and here is a list of things we do: Epoxy & Urethane Injection, Spall Repair, Expansion & Control Joints, Seawall Repair, Void Filling, Soil Stabilization, Chemical Grouting, Foundation Support Systems, Concrete Removal, Concrete Replacement, Concrete Resurfacing, Crack Repair, Concrete Cutting & Breaking and Water Infiltration & Exfiltration.

See below for the specifics on each of these. If the information you are looking for is not covered here, please contact us.

Epoxy and Urethane Injection

RestorationEpoxy and Urethane injection is permanent crack repair that is both a structural repair procedure and a structural preservation procedurekeeping good concrete good. Epoxy and Urethane injection is not limited to repairing cracks in concrete structures. Wood beams have been successfully injected, honeycombs and similar voids are also filled using injection techniques, floor overlays can be rebonded, and loosened metal plates and bolts can be secured. This type of repair can be used on a variety of structures, such as, slabs, columns, beams, and supports. It helps by curing to the structure and restores it by binding with the concrete. Once it has cured it helps the structure in four ways. It makes the structure stronger, it stops water from further penetrating the structure, it provides additional strength, and it helps prevent further damage. The Epoxy and Urethane injection is flexible, allowing for the natural movement of the structure and should never crack as it is stronger than the concrete itself, since it has now bonded.

Spall Repair

RestorationA spall in a concrete surface may be the result of localized distress or the symptom of a more widespread distress in the concrete element. In either case, an attempt should be made to determine the cause of the distress prior to selecting a remedy. Causes of spalls include corrosion of reinforcing steel, an inoperative joint resulting from incompressibles in the joint, mis-alignment of joint dowels, impact, freezing and thawing of nonair-entrained concrete in a critically water-saturated condition, freezing and thawing of porous aggregate in a critically water-saturated condition, and alkali-silica reaction.

Expansion & Control Joints

RestorationExpansion and Control Joints can be found around pools, decks, driveways, sidewalks and parking lots. The reason for these joints is to allow the concrete to expand and contract, and if these joints are not maintained or repaired, it could lead to significant damage.

Seawall Repair

RestorationSeawalls themselves can be damaged or the ground behind and under the seawalls can be damaged. Erosion can be a large factor in the failure of a seawall as well as the physical structure of the seawall. Once the structural integrity of the seawall has been breached, erosion will occur.

Void Filling

RestorationVoid filling is the processes of displacing empty spaces under concrete surfaces with a material that is more durable than the previous material. There are many different types of material that can be used depending on the requirements of the application.

Soil Stabilization

RestorationThere are many products; natural and artificial on the market that can help soil stabilization. The determination of the products used will determine on the actual structure to be built.

Chemical Grouting

RestorationChemical grout is a polymer mix that is used to treat unstable soil at shallow levels usually below interior slabs and around swimming pools. Chemical grouting is used to re-level slabs or fill soil voids in near surface depth on structures. Chemical grout is pumped at lower pressure levels than concrete grout.

Foundation Support Systems

RestorationThere are several ways to secure an existing foundation with supports. One of these ways is called piling and it is the technique of driving steel pipe pilings to correct a failing building foundation and/or to correct foundation settlement.

Concrete Removal

RestorationConcrete removal is essential to the replacement of new concrete. However, concrete being removed might not necessarily be replaced with new concrete; it might be replaced with pavers, stone, soil, and other materials. The means of removing concrete is based off the complexity of the job at hand. Take for instance a sidewalk being removed compared to a concrete pillar holding up a structure; there will be quite a different undertaking of the removal of concrete for these two jobs.

Concrete Replacement

RestorationThere might be certain determining factors for replacing existing concrete; the concrete might be structurally unsound or there might be a need for a more aesthetic look and feel to a certain area. The removal of existing concrete can be more expensive than pouring new concrete in a new area, because of the costs that go into the removal of the existing concrete while maintaining the original structural integrity of the structure. If you are unsure about removing existing concrete, but are looking for a more aesthetic look; see concrete resurfacing.

Concrete Resurfacing

RestorationResurfacing concrete with polymer-modified overlay systems is a viable way to improve existing concrete surfaces. Resurfacing can range from simply making the concrete look like new again, or upgrading the surface with a variety of colors and patterns.

Crack Repair

RestorationCrack injection works by filling the entire length and depth of the crack. It stops water leaks permanently and also, prevents water from getting into the concrete and deteriorating it further. No drilling is needed.

Concrete Cutting & Breaking

RestorationConcrete cutting and breaking is essential to the removal of the concrete. This process must be done precisely so that it does not cause structural damage to other structures and adjacent concrete.

Concrete Bridge Repair

RestorationWe specialize in repairing all parts of Concrete Bridges, from traffic wear to Spalling.

Water Infiltration & Exfiltration

RestorationWater infiltration mainly occurs if the structure develops cracks. Repairing these cracks and insuring that the proper drainage system (if needed) is in place, will correct all water infiltration problems.
